[1] Old Homes, New Seoul

In Seochon, you’ll find houses that are a little different from the traditional hanok houses. 

Some have been carefully preserved over the years, while others are newly built hanok houses designed for modern life. There are also places that have disappeared, leaving behind only memories and traces of the past. Walking through the streets of Seochon, you can see layers of architecture from different periods existing side by side.

This walking tour explores Seochon through the lens of architecture and urban life. We’ll look at old houses and streets, newly built spaces, and the everyday lives of the people who live here today, while tracing how housing and the city of Seoul have changed over time.
