Hong Geon-ik House is excited to introduce Seochon : Explorative Walk, a guided tour designed for international visitors.
This guided tour serves as a comprehensive journey through the Seochon area, highlighting the multiple layers of time and space surrounding the western side of Gyeongbokgung Palace. Structured around key themes such as 'space', 'history', 'art', and 'public', the tour invites participants to explore Seochon with expert docents.
Our Second theme 🎨Album of Eight Scenic Sites of Jangdong, invites you to uncover the fascinating stories behind Seochon’s hidden markings. Starting at the Hong Geon-ik House, participants will visit Jeong Seon’s birthplace and the spots that inspired 'Album of Eight Scenic Sites of Jang-dong(*now part of Seochon)', a remarkable collection of landscape paintings created in the 1750s by Gyeomjae Jeong Seon, one of Korea’s most celebrated artists.
As you wander through Seochon’s charming alleys, you'll have the rare opportunity to compare the beautiful sceneries captured over 250 years ago with the present-day landscape, harmonize in this historic area. Join us for an unforgettable journey through time!
